Period sex with a condom

My bf and I had sex yesterday, I was on my second day of period (which is the heaviest for me). He wore a condom and pulled out before ejaculating with the condom still on. The cum didn’t leak, but we decided to test it with water and it had no holes or tears so it worked perfectly. If I combined condom which stayed on all the time+pull out+fertility awareness method, am I in the safe? I can’t take hormonal BC yet due to thyroid problems and my endocrinologist needs to approve them first
