C-Section - what should i pack in my hospital bag? Aftercare tips? Things you wish you knew?

Hi ladies,
I recently found out I will be having a c section (baby is too big for me to birth naturally). I am looking for any tips of things I should pack in my hospital bag, things to prepare for aftercare, tips/tricks, and just any general information you wish you knew.  Thanks!!

WALK AS SOON AS YOU ARE NO LONGER NUMB!!!!!!!!!! I’ve had two... walks ASAP and your recovery will be sooo much better. Will it hurt like hell? Yes. But it will hurt like hell for a much shorter time. Get the catheter out ASAP too. It’ll make you walk to bathroom! 
Use the belly binder. If they don’t give it to you automatically, ASK!!!!! 
Try to use as little narcotics as possible! I used for first 24hrs w alternating Tylenol/ibuprofen and then transitioned to just T/I after. You will not be constipated that way (trust me.. you don’t want to be.) Use the stool softeners.
Get cotton shorts that will sit at your belly button. That way it doesn’t irritate scar but you’re not in stupid gown. (I bought pajama shorts one size up). 
Bring your own toiletries.

Everyone has great tips but the one thing that I felt like no one told me or reminded was to take care of myself afterwords. You will want to do everything and be a part of everything but you will need to rest your body. Its okay if you physically can't do something like going up stairs or getting into a high bed at first. I won't say it's super difficult or super easy to recover from a csection cuz everyone's different but ask for help. Make sure you eat, drink water and rest. You just had a major surgery. You gotta let your body catch up. Lol. This is me basically telling myself this lol.

Bring your own toiletries. I had felt so disgusting after and just wanted a shower and the hospital toiletries weren’t cutting it. Also, bring chapstick, extra food, your own pillow and throw blanket, and your own comfy clothes. I got sick of being in the gowns. But I was planning on having a c section, I didn’t pack enough clothes, so I ended up wearing dirty clothes. And remember pillow for your SO. Good luck!

They make maternity nightgowns that make it easily accessible to breastfeed, I’ll definitely be getting those. I wore pajama pants the whole time and it was sooo painful! I also loved having my boppy pillow there to help with feeding. Walk as much as possible to help the healing go faster! Bring nipple cream. Lol. My hospital didn’t provide me with the mesh underwear so I recommend bringing some just in case.

I didn’t pack anything but an outfit to go home and use the pads and mesh underwear given to me from the hospital. And I stayed in the hospital gown of course. Got bloody a few times. I’ve had 2 CS

I packed all of my own clothes & toiletries which i wad super thankful for. I hate hospital gowns and didnt bleed enough for the mesh underwear. Id buy your own belly binder because the hospital ones are “one size fits all” and they suck. Wish i wouldve packed my own pillow and i wish i wouldve brought my breast pump in with me. More food too. I wish i hadnt packed half as much stuff for my baby because we didnt need any of it except an outfit to go home in.

People say buy depends!! Legit never though of this but I have a repeat c section and will be buying these. Definitely wear maternity and high rise everything after your c section because it will be sooooo sore. Bring toothpaste, dial antibacterial soap, and pretty much baggy clothing
