Military Marriage Advice

So my boyfriend and I have known each other since middle school and we’ve been best friends since freshman year (he’s graduated and in the marines and I’m a senior in high school that’s about to graduate) we’re both 18 and he and I just recently started dating in December. We’ve always had a thing for each other but we’ve never acted on it till now. But he’s like perfect for me, he’s everything I want in a guy and more; he left for his duty station today and he hinted at proposing to me next year when he’ll be able to take me with him on base. I’m all for the thought of it, but I’m afraid people and my family will think it’s too soon.
