Should my 1yr old be saying more words?!😔
My baby will be 1 in 2weeks and so far the only for sure word they say is “mama” but it is not all the time. They also do not clap, wave, and had only held a bottle once and a squeeze pouch once. To be fair we didn’t encourage him to hold his bottle cause it made feedings a nightmare and we recently started giving him his own squeeze punches to try to feed himself, normally it becomes a toy 🤦🏼♀️, anyways.
I started taking him to little gym classes and he’s very shy. He does try to chase the other kids and will Babble. It’s just hard seeing kids younger than him who clap and wave and talk more.
He walks great, plays with toys, plays with our dogs, smiles, makes eye contact, points and will point to what he wants. I’m hoping he’s just been so focused on walking and mastering that, that other skills he just doesn’t care about.
Should I be worried?? All my friends who have had babies in the last 3 year, all have children with disabilities So I’m probably overly paranoid but it’s my first so that also doesn’t help!
