Dark ovulation test 3 days before period

I’ve been taking ovulation test since my last period and recording. I tracked my peak day and say the line get more faint after though they didn’t go away. I felt the lines were getting darker but I couldn’t tell until today. Today the line looks the same color as the control. Is this normal right before your period? I’ve taken a pregnancy test and it was negative.
