Constipation remedies for 5 month old?

I tried juice like doc suggested when constipated. Last poop was too firm two days ago. Gave him juice yesterday, he refused juice today. Gave him warm bath, gas drops, probiotics. Exercised his legs. Hes been throwing the worst farts today that actually smells like poop but no poop

My son hadn't pooped in 4days so I gave him some chamomile tea in his formula instead of reg water and not even 4hrs later he pooped. 😄  I also did bicycle kicks and belly massage ( i love you) . I love this simple remedy since it's so gentle on their tummies and works really well

Prune puré or prune juice/smoothie. But might need to wait with this until you start weaning baby at 6 moths+.
If/when you have started weaning it's a really good and gentle way of getting things moving.

If the above mentioned doesn’t work, put a thermometer about 1inch in their bottom (as if checking temperature), and move it a tiny. The doc said to use as last option. It won’t hurt the baby. It will get the muscles moving & the babies body will feel the urge to poop. I have done it twice before. I did that for about 20 seconds, then the baby pooped 10-30 minutes later!

You can give miralax start with a little bit like 1/4tsp and go from there. You can also give mineral oil but would have to talk to your doc about how much to give.

Our Pediatrician asked us to change his formula to Novalac IT 2, for constipation and it worked wonders.
