Mirrored sliding closet door vs. painting old wood closet door

Hi everyone. My husband and I want to add small changes to our apartment that can improve the aesthetics and hopefully increase the value. One thing we are discussing is to get rid of the horrible wallpaper in the bathrooms and painting the bathroom walls. Another suggestion I had was for a sliding mirror closet door. The room is small and I am hoping it makes the room bigger. My question is are mirror closet doors outdated? I’m trying to figure out if it’s worth it or not because we are on a tight budget. Currently, the closet door just swings open and is a wood bifold closet door. I absolutely hate it. It’s an ugly gray color. The other option is to paint it a different color. I assume this was once a sliding door but it basically kind of swings open. What would be more aesthetically pleasing and what would you like to see if you were trying to buy an apartment?
