When did you (or do you plan on) announcing?

I know it’s different for us with ivf and fertility histories.  Are you waiting long to tell people that were in on part or all of your journey?  What about the rest of the people you know?  Or when are you okay with people knowing?

I’d like to tell people now, I’d like to take an advert out in the newspaper to be honest! I’m just so delighted. My husband is being more level heeded about things and has talked me into waiting until we have had the 3 month scan. Only another month to go.... 😂

With my 1st ivf pregnancy I told my immediate circle at about 8 weeks.  We made our official announcement at about 16.
The goal is to do the same with this one.

Even with a genetically tested embryo, I waited until the second trimester. We told our families around 12 weeks. Everyone else, a few weeks later. I’ve known a few people that made announcements, then lost their babies. Imagine having to explain that every time you run into someone that knew you were pregnant 😕 it’s all in what you’re comfortable with.

I told everyone way too early my first pregnancy and then I had a miscarriage. Then I had a failed transfer after. This time I waited three months before I said anything (which was torture)...

I plan on telling the people close to me (outside the few I have already) about 10 weeks, but ask them to keep it on the DL, and probably wait until closer to 16 weeks or later if I’m not showing yet for it to be known to whoever (and work), though I don’t want to do an official announcement on social media, just word of mouth.

Our situation is a little complex because my kids are older and my parents live in the same town and are connected on Facebook with my ex-in-laws. So we’ll be telling my girls first, but they talk to all their grandparents frequently, so we will have to quickly tell family afterward, to make sure they hear it from us directly. 
Was hoping to wait until after we get our NIPT results back and know the sex, but we may decide to do it earlier. I’ve had a lot of IVF and pregnancy-related complications already, and it would be nice to feel this babe being celebrated by our loved ones, even though it’s still early (8w4d).
