I gave birth March 18th to a beautiful baby girl. I initially wanted to go natural and labor at home with my Doula but that all changed when I became at risk for preeclampsia. I was induced March 15 and labored until then. They tried everything on me to get me into labor, the ballon, pitocin, etc. for all of those 3 days I only dilated to 4cm and stayed there, I was so frustrated and irritated that I wasn’t receiving a birth experience that I wanted (I know that’s okay and life is spontaneous but it still hurt lol). So anyways, my family been pressuring me to get the epidural and the nurses were even pressuring me but my doula told me ultimately it’s up to me. I decided to get the epidural because I at least wanted to experience something positive and calming in my birth plan. Well I got the epidural and the woman put it too far in my spine and caused my spinal fluid to leak. I have been in the hospital since March 18 with a horrible headache due to my brain sinking into my skull because of the leakage of fluid, they done the blood patch Monday but it still didn’t work. Has anyone else experienced something like this? I just want to be with my baby but I can’t because of the pain I’m experiencing! How was your blood patch and how many did you have to get done for the pain to stop?
