Do you have people over when..

..your house is trashed? As in toys and crumbs everywhere, food prep stuff all over the kitchen, dirty bathroom, laundry piled on the couch, etc

I’m really curious if others are like me with not being able to keep up or if I especially suck at being a stay at home mom.

I have a 10 month old and a 4 year old. I exclusively breast feed, home make all my kids food, my baby is up 3-4 times a night and I get about 5-6 hours of sleep per night, and I’m always running around while trying to give my kids enough attention and play time with me and I can’t keep up with anything so my house is trashed 9/10 times and my husband does help a lot too.

A family member (who gossips about everything and will most likely talk about how messy my house is) wants to come over and I’m like uhhhhhh. I’m really embarrassed. I like to keep a clean house and I literally can’t. It doesn’t help that we have a small house so the living room is the play room, no laundry room so the clothes are always on the couch, 1 bathroom, etc

So my question is if/when your house is like this, do you have visitors or do you avoid having people over? I feel guilty for not wanting people here and this family member is always asking to come over
