Any Snoo moms? I need help 😫

We are desperately trying to wear our son off the Snoo. He’s 5 months old and we know he should be out of it by 6 months. We thought we were giving ourselves enough time.

We’ve tried letting him fall asleep in our arms and then putting him in the crib but he wakes up immediately and starts to fuss. We’ve tried putting him in the crib drowsy but as soon as we lay him down he’s fussy. This situation can repeat itself for nearly an hour before we give up and put him in the Snoo. He will sometimes take naps in the crib and for a few nights he gave us around 5 hour stretches in the crib. We thought we were getting close! And then it’s like he took two steps backwards. Because now we’re lucky if we get an hour of nighttime sleep in the crib.

On the other hand, if we put him in the Snoo and strap him in, he falls asleep and stays asleep.

Any Snoo moms have any advice? Can you share how you made the transition?

Or any other moms whose baby hates their crib. What did you do??

When you say strap him in, do you mean with the arms in the swaddle or with arms out? I have a snoo and our transition from swaddle to arms out was the toughest. She kept waking up every hour at night and ultimately ended up sleeping in our bed. n the end, I was so frustrated with the gradual process of “weaning” her from the SNOO- I just put her in the crib one night (she had been doing her day naps in the crib pretty successfully before then). She cried for over an hour the first few nights (we did gradual extinction) but even this is getting better. She now wakes up twice in the night but this is obviously a big improvement. Personally, I think that the issue with the SNOO was once her arms were out of the swaddle she was waking herself up by touching the sides. She is pretty big. Also, I suspect because she can now roll she felt really confined in the SNOO.

Maybe the issue is with not being swaddled like in the snoo? I know the halo sleep sacks are really great, a lot of them have “wings” so you have the option to swaddle their arms in or out of it... maybe try swaddling and sleeping in the crib?

When you say he fusses is it crying? Maybe let him fuss for a bit. You might be surprised that he can fall asleep on his own. My daughter uses her hands to sooth.

I do not have a snoo, but doesn’t it have a wean function? I thought I read that

Oh I see! Well good luck! Maybe starting with naps might help?

It does have a weaning feature but our Snoo lost wifi a long time ago so we’ve never used it. But he sleeps well in the Snoo without the motion on so we keep it off. So it’s not necessarily the snoo’s movement he prefers. I think it’s just where he got used to sleeping.

Can you try to put him in the snoo without turning it on and then once he's done that for a bit move him to the crib? I don't have a snoo but transitioned my baby from the swing by slowly taking away the movement.
