Nursing and covid vaccine?

Have any of you nursing mamas got the covid vaccine? We asked my daughters pediatrician and he really seemed hesitant about it and wouldn’t recommend or not recommend it.

I got it. It was no big deal. No issues with me or baby, and preliminary studies are showing that antibodies are being passed to the nursing infants which is really promising.

I got my second shot yesterday. No issues with me or baby. My pediatrician recommended I get it. I’m glad to be part of the solution!  I also think it’s a personal choice you should make with your doctor.

I won't do it. I'm not an anti-vaxer but this is way too sketchy. The vaccine is literal still in a trial phase being passed off as safe. There have been a few deaths of babies being breastfed 48-72 hours after getting the vaccine. It's so sad.  Babies being breastfed by mothers with covid have been ok and it's encouraged to continue breast feeding even with covid but to wear a mask.

Yes.  Nursing mama and work in public health. Got my vaccine in January. Kept nursing and pumping. ( still nursing actually). No issues!

I got my first dose and I've been breastfeeding my 14 mo old without any issues. They told me that it's really good since we will pass antibodies to our LO. So I'm pleased

I asked 4 different doctors about it that don’t know each other, including my sons pediatrician, and they all recommended I get it. So I did! Got the J&J vaccine 2 weeks ago as of yesterday! Any chance to pass some antibodies down to my little guy I will absolutely take! I’m also trying to pump a little extra and stash it for later...like a year from now or so 😁💉

Listen to her pediatrician. Don’t do it. There are no long term studies on the vaccine. The risks far outweigh the benefits of the vaccine. 
Keep in mind, he’s also not FDA approved. It’s only out for emergency use authorization.
The media is creating so much fear over this virus. Most people who are dying from it are dying from infections in the hospital like sepsis originating from the lungs. As a nurse I’ve seen it with my own eyes this entire year.
Your pediatrician probably knows the truth and that’s why she’s advising against it. Be fortunate you have a good pediatrician who cares about your baby instead of financial incentives for each baby vaccinated.

I haven’t personally got it yet but women who were breastfeeding were not included in the medical trials for vaccines. Having said that your doctor should advise you based on your  risk. I had this conversation with my doc and he recommended for me to get it as soon as it was offered.
