Moving to another state, does it get easier?

Question

I moved after Christmas down south from the north (in United States) 
It’s different and I just keep viewing my old state as my home. I mean guess not helping that I can’t do as much with covid and I’m pregnant 
I’m just worried I won’t meet any friends at all! even at work I only go to office 1x a week and they hardly have anyone in at same time to covid so I don’t even know everyone
My husband myself, my 3 year old and our new baby will be moving end of summer to our new neighborhood. It’s a brand new development so I’m hoping to meet some people 
Anyone get what I mean ?

It gets easier! Just get out there, go to parks and libraries and get on the app Peanut to meet moms around you :)

It does, but it’ll take time. I’ve moved to three different states within the 20 years I’ve been alive, but I’ve lived in Nevada for most of my life. I lived in Washington State when I was younger for maybe a year, and I just moved back in June. My mother and my best friend is in Nevada so I miss them, and it’s also really really hard to find GOOD authentic Mexican food here, so I’m also missing a bit of my culture. Then it’s the same as you, I can’t really go out and do much and explore because of covid. It’s depressing. But it has gotten better. When I first moved here I still felt like a guest and somehow the people felt different, but I’m getting used to it and slowly viewing it as my new home. A fresh start. I do like it here, I really do, but it’s hard not to miss Nevada. 
Something that really helps is getting back into familiar hobbies! I just bought some gouache and I’ve been drawing a lot more and that has helped me soooo much. I’ve also been going to the lake (even if I can’t swim in it) and to the beach since there aren’t too many people out and I don’t have to worry about social distancing or masks unless I’m in the parking lot. And make sure you’re regularly calling and texting any friends that aren’t close. That can help as well.

I moved to Tennessee from California and I have been in Tennessee 4 years and I still don't like it!  And I still have almost no friends.  My husband has a completely remote job but doesn't want to move yet. So I feel trapped. Trying to be content in my circumstances.

I’m originally from Texas and have been living up north for a few years now. I still get homesick occasionally but for the most part this is just my new normal and I’m okay with it. It does get easier, it just takes a little time. The stress of moving and this whole Covid situation definitely is not helping, so it may be a little while before you start to really feel settled in. Just take it day by day

It takes time. Longer than you except usually. I’ve moved states once with a partner and once completely solo. Both times it took almost 8-12 months to feel like I truly lived there and created a home. Covid doesn’t help but its still possible to meet people and it will pass 😊

My friend had met moms from Facebook groups. Maybe try that? I’m going to be moving from California to Utah pretty soon. I have the same concerns.
