so my boyfriend and i have been together for almost 2 years (in may) and we have a 3 month old son. we have our own house. we’ve lived together for like a year and a half. the night of our gender reveal, he told me he was going to propose to me but he didn’t have enough for a ring. obviously i was understanding of that bc they can be pricey and we had only been in our house for about a month. recently, one of his friends got engaged and it kinda made me revisit that topic with him. i mentioned it and he said “i’m not ready and we aren’t ready” and i said i understand that we as a couple aren’t ready because we still have some stuff to work on but he also said he isn’t...so i asked “why aren’t you ready?” and he said “idk i’m just not”. idk if i’m overthinking or what but when i think of marriage, i think of spending the rest of your life with someone and the highest level of commitment. so when he says he as an individual isn’t ready, it worries me. it also makes me think it might not have been the ring that stopped him from doing it at the gender reveal, but maybe something else....idk if i’m overthinking or not but it kinda stresses me out, i mean we have a kid together but he’s not ready to marry me? idk. what’s your opinion?
