Progesterone?

So I just had another chemical. My progesterone the first draw was 5. The second draw they didn’t check progesterone but it my hCG rose significantly. Today I had another draw and my hCG dropped to half of what it was and my progesterone was at 2.5. Could this be the reason I keep having chemicals? I’m so confused and of course disheartened. Thank you!

Progesterone is low. Have you ever been diagnosed with low progesterone. You may need take it when ttc if you want your pregnancy to develop

There are two camps of belief with progesterone. Some doctors believe that low progesterone CAUSES miscarriage, while other doctors believe it is the RESULT of an already failing pregnancy. 
The peer reviewed literature shows that *maybe* low progesterone can cause *some* miscarriages.
It seems like the consensus is that progesterone supplementation (when monitored by a doctor) won't hurt anything and can potentially help. 
I'm going to see a reproductive endocrinologist before trying again. I'm hoping that simple progesterone supplementation does the trick.
