Did my dad do it?
So this is going to be a long post about my dad who was a cop. No hateful comments towards my dads profession. I will have them removed.
My mom and dad divorced and my mom remarried. He will be reffered to as SD.
So one morning SD was driving me into work, we went past the police station as he always did instead of avoiding it. He saw my dads car parked there and the cop car gone. And he says "looks like your dads working" we pulled into my works parking lot (grocery store) and my dad was sitting there in the cop car (I also worked there with my brother who my dad was waiting for). My SD had his left arm up by the driver window and when we pulled in the lot I was on my phone and he says "look theres your dad" I glanced up and go "huh" and went back on my phone. My SD pulled up to the front door and I stepped out. I started walking into the store and a co-worker yelled my name (just to say good morning) and I turned around and glanced out the window and saw the cop car pulled up next to my SD car. (All within 30 seconds of me getting out of the car and turning around). My dad had the door open with one foot on the ground yelling over the car at my SD who drove away. My dad got in his car and went the opposite way my SD did. Now when my SD got home, he walked over to my mom and said "we need to talk" then walked away. My mom followed him and he told her my dad pulled a gun out on him, was calling him a pervert, and other derogatory names. My mom started laughing because she didn't think he was serious, he told her he was and she said "if he did that you need to turn him in" so the next day my SD called and turned my dad in. They put him on leave 2 days later to figure it out. And those 2 days my dad worked, my SD continued to drive past the police station to look and see if he was working or not. (I know because i was in the car with him) He acted as if nothing had happened. My dad claims that my SD while driving through the parking lot looked over at him, opened 2 of his fingers and pretended to lick in between them then motioned his head over at me and laughed. (According to 2 exes he made this gesture a lot when he wanted to "go down" on them).
Now when it came to explaining the story, my SD got the color of my dads gun and barrel wrong, after my mom told him what color it was he changed it to that color when telling. And when me and my mom were out in his garage we saw a piece of paper laying out with a very detailed story of what happened. And then later my mom had gotten her iPad back from him and in the notes he had the exact same description of the story. Anytime you ask him what happened, he pulls that up and reads off of it. Now my dad was going to take this to court and prove his innocence but after a little digging his lawyer found out that he wasn't suppose to have a gun from what happened in his past. (My dad came home from work early and found his ex sleeping with another dude and shot at him. They didn't pursue with charges and the guy was fine) my dad was saying that he turned himself in and went to a 2 week course of anger management and was allowed the gun but they couldn't find what they were looking for. His lawyer was confident they could win the case with my SD but since they added the gun thing onto it they wouldn't win that case. So my dads lawyer advice he just take a guilty plea and so he did. (They wanted to fine him every day that he was a cop after that inccident, and he was a cop for over 20 years)
My SD and dad worked together as cops in the past and hated each other. Something happened with my mom between the 2 and then my SD ended up getting fired from the police station for shady shit he was doing.
I'm still conflicted of who to believe. I think I believe my dad over my SD. Even though my dad is a pos. There's just no way in that short period of time my dad would've been able to unhook and pull his gun out (while sitting) and then be out of the car flipping out within 30 seconds. What do you guys think?
Edit to add- prior to this incident my dad had heard about this; me and my mom were coming out of the house and he held the door open for us, my mom went out first and then me behind her. As I was walking past, he slapped my ass and my brother saw and freaked out on him and then my mom freaked out on him. The was the only time he's done something like that.
