California Restraining Order Hearing

I've never been to court this is my first hearing.. has anyone done one and been to court how should I prepare any tips would be helpful (I'm supper shy in person and hate being around people lol) I know to have evidence... can I use a paper to read off notes? What should I wear? What else do I need to know. Do I ask for child custody child support?..
