Contractions after cervical check?

Second time mom, 39 + 1 and had a cervical check today. 3-4cm dilated -1 station, 70% effaced and have been having painful contractions and back pain all afternoon but nothing consistent. With my first I woke up at 5am with consistent contractions so I’m not sure if labor is imminent or not right now. 😓

I didn’t have contractions with my second at all and got to the hospital after my husband dragged me there with bulging waters and 6cm. All I had was back pain and the tightening down low like BH.

That’s what happened to me with my first baby after my cervix check. I had inconsistent contractions for the remainder of that day, then I couldn’t sleep that night because they got stronger, but were still inconsistent. I finally went in the next day and I was 7cm so you can be in labor even if your contractions aren’t consistent. Even when I was 10cm my contractions would sometimes be 8 minutes apart, and other times 1 minute apart. They were definitely painful though. If your contractions aren’t too painful yet then I’d wait a little while before going in so they don’t send you home, but you can always call L&D to be sure.

I usually have some contractions on and off after my checks. Never know, could turn into labor. I got checked Thursday and had contractions Thursday and Friday  nights and nothing since

You could probably go ahead and go to hospital and they’ll take you in since your 3-4cm dilated and 39 weeks!
