Is it too early??

I'm concerned that my daughter is autistic. I've done my online research and she's showing lots of signs. I'm just wondering is it too early to diagnose or have her evaluated. I'm currently 34 weeks pregnant with my 3rd and I need answers. I'm going to make a doctor's appointment but I'm just asking real moms first. TIA 😌

Not too early. They can get diagnosed from 24 months. Our psychologist indicated my son has signs too and we noticed. Just waiting for an official diagnosis.

I agree with other post, screening and diagnosis starts early at 24 months. I have two autistic nephews but I don’t recall age they were diagnosed. However the earlier you can diagnose the better because the sooner you can provide the altered care they need the better it will be for everyone  so they can learn at a younger age how to develop and adapt to things that are a struggle for them (and you). Early intervention is key in ASD! My 8yo was diagnosed ASD at 2.5 and he’s doing really great after we got early support. My daughter (my Oct 18 baby) is currently undergoing a possible diagnosis as well (she was regretted at 20months)

Do you mind if I ask what we’re the signs that made you think your daughter is autistic? My son refuses to speak, he started out very well and hit all his milestones on time, babbling and talking but slowly over the last 6 months or so he has just about stopped talking all together. He says duck, mum, dad, narna (his sister’s name Alana) and yes (there could be a few more words but can’t think of them at the moment) he is very alert and understands everything I say to him including ‘multiple step’ instructions except just won’t speak. I have had him assessed by an occupational therapist and a speech therapist and they agreed there was nothing else going on and that he just refuses to use words. Just curious what made you think your baby is autistic?
