This is my boyfriend with a sweater full of duck eggs and one in his hand. He wants a baby duck SO BAD. He literally wants to hatch it out so it will bond with him, raise it, train it, and name it JERRY.

We have a male and a female duck and they lay eggs but never sit on them. And yes, I’m aware that they don’t sit on them until they lay ALL of their eggs. Multiple times now I’ve waited for her to lay them all and sit on them and she just leaves them like “I shat em out and I’m done.” And they sit and rot. Let me tell you, it’s nasty.

We find more eggs, not sure how old they are. He got my incubator out and set everything up and put all those eggs in it and looked at it and crossed his fingers and said “Jerry.” Lmfao that’s all he said

He’s willing Jerry the duck into existence. If they don’t hatch I will just get him a baby duck for his birthday. I think it’s adorable that he has baby duck fever

He has a broken hand. He’s over here looking for possible future Jerry’s with one hand lol

Yes the eggs are dirty. But you can’t wash hatching eggs because it washes off the natural bacteria that protect the eggs from getting infections. Yes, eggs are porous and can get infected. It’s better to just leave them be.
