Crib bumpers safe??

So I’ve read and heard about all crib bumpers being unsafe, but last night my son (who likes to sleep on his side) got one of his little legs stuck between the crib slats and woke up crying because he couldnt get it out. What should I do?? Anyone use crib bumpers? Thinking about getting the mesh brethable ones

Put him in a sleep sack those are safe to use and prevents that problem

I have a mesh crib bumper. Super breathe able and my baby’s pediatrician approved it.

They are a risk for strangulation and suffocation. Even the mesh ones unfortunately. You can always do a sleep sack.

Even the breathable ones pose a risk of strangulation, and entrapment. Does it bother your son, or wake him up when his feet are sticking out of the crib? Maybe a tight sleep sack will keep his feet from sticking out. We used mesh bumpers for a couple of weeks. My son was only 3 months, and when I went to get him from his crib he was holding onto the string that tied the bumper up. 😟😟 so I won't be going back.
