My doctor scared me into a medicated birth

Today at my ob appointment I had my first “birth talk” I’m 5 weeks away and I told her I’d wanted no epidural no pain management unless I really felt I needed it. To prevent unnecessary intervention and c section. She then went on to tell me without any kind of pain killer “most first time moms will tear during vaginal birth” and that I’ll feel everything when I’m being sewn back up. And it’ll be the most painful thing. And how the uterine massages will be unbearable without any kind of drug. I don’t know if she was trying to help me and give advice or instill fear into me... but now I’m on the fence about pain meds ):
