Hi everyone. Just wanted to see how long other women had heavy bleeding for after passing the fetus & gestational sac?

Our fetus has stopped growing around the 6 week mark, but we didn’t find out until about 8 weeks that there was no longer a heartbeat. I took the misoprostol on 3/26 and had some mild bleeding for about 4 days after. Then no bleeding at all for a few days. I started spotting after those few days, then the heavier bleeding (basically like a period amount) started on 4/9. Last night (4/13) I had a lot of bright red bleeding and severe cramping. I couldn’t even move an inch without feeling blood pouring out. I’m pretty sure the cramping was contractions and I sat on the toilet when I had severe cramping that wouldn’t let up and felt a huge gush, and a golf ball sized chunk came out. Scared me half to death. I couldn’t see in the toilet because of all the blood so I actually got it out (I know, I’m gross) and saw that it definitely was the fetus, gestational sac, and small placenta. The size of all of it together was about the size of my palm. The cramping immediately stopped after that came out, and the bleeding has slowed but it’s still heavier than my typical periods are. I know it’s only the next day, but how long has anyone else experienced heavy bleeding after passing the sac/fetus? I truly was not expecting that at all and was kind of in shock. I have a doctors on 4/16 so I figured I’d wait the few days and see how it goes. Not sure if I should cancel if I’m still bleeding? Someone help please!! 🥺
