What are the signs a toddler is ready for potty training?

I don't think my LO is ready yet, and I've heard starting too early can be counter-productive, but I do want to be aware of what signs to look for so when she is ready we can get started.

The Montessori method is to start changing the diaper with them standing in the bathroom and each time just asking if they’d like to sit in the potty before you put the new diaper on. When they’re ready they say yes. Good luck! It can be a messy undertaking!

We got my daughter potty books and a toilet around 1.5. She was showing interest in us going. We potty trained a little over 2.5 years.

I started my son just sitting and entertaining him and given him a you. You can try taking every 15-20 minutes. Even if he’s uncomfortable being persistent is they. My LO is wearing underwear during the day with no accidents and can wipe his poop butt and he’s almost 3. Also and he started at about 13-14 months. Currently working on overnight training (so if anyone has any tips on that as well lol).
