What age to start going out to events with your baby?

when did you start going to events with your baby? What’s a good age? Some of my out of town family got vaccinated and is coming in this weekend. They invited us to a family dinner at a really nice restaurant, with about 10 people (my parents, sister and her bf, grandma, great aunt, aunts and uncles). As much as I’d like to see them, get out, and have them meet my little babe, dinners usually are 2-3 hours long and I think it might be a bit much for me and my 7 week old baby. Not to mention it’s a lot of people - we’ve gradually had people over, but only one or two at a time, so it kind of makes me nervous to have a group of people passing around my baby (and I know a few of them, like my sister’s bf and my grandma/great aunt aren’t used to young babies or haven’t been around them in a while). Aside from that, it’s a nice restaurant and in 2-3 hours I’d most likely have to nurse at least once, have multiple diaper changes, and there’s always the chance for spit up episodes and outfit changes (for my baby and me).

My fiancé is working that night so it would just be me. He works night shift so I’m used to being alone with the baby and fine with it, but we’ve only really been out a handful of times before to run errands, like the store or post office, and it’s always under an hour. This is my first baby, and at 7 weeks I’m not sure if this is something I just need to get used to, or if I should wait until he’s a bit older to go to events like these? Any advice would be great! **
