Water in ears?

We just started swim! Our little B3 is obsessed! It's been so great. However, I don't know how to tell if he has water in his ears and how to keep them dry. Does anyone have any remedies that are safe to do after each lesson to keep them dry?

I know you’re not specifically referring to swimmer’s ear, but I was a swimmer as a kid and this is what I did:
A mixture of 1 part white vinegar to 1 part rubbing alcohol may help promote drying and prevent the growth of bacteria and fungi that can cause swimmer's ear. Pour 1 teaspoon (about 5 milliliters) of the solution into each ear and let it drain back out.

We go to swimming lessons since E was tiny (obvious gaps for covid restrictions). Never once worried about getting water in her ears. Nor do I when I wash her hair. I didn't know it was something to worry about. Can I ask why its a concern? I don't want to miss something that could harm her.

We swam all of last summer and I just wiped them with a town a few mins after she got out of the pool. I noticed it would just come out on its own she never had any problems.

We’ve been doing swim lessons for months and spend a lot of time underwater! Haven’t had a problem yet!
