Health insurance for baby.. FTM,advice, tips?

Hi all. So- I just enrolled with Kaiser through my employer today. As I was enrolling, I added a dependent, so I kind of had an idea as to what I would be paying with a baby.
The price shot up from $89 per check, to $294 PER CHECK.. that is not something I can afford at all.. it really discouraged me..
What are some options, resources, or tips for mamas getting their babies on health care when they’re born?

Our insurance is crazy expensive too, but luckily the premium won’t change when we add baby #2 to hubby’s plan. Does your husband/baby’s father have insurance through his employer? You could always compare costs and see if it would be less expensive to have baby on his plan. Otherwise, I’d check your state’s healthcare options. Everything is based off income, so you should be able to find out if you’re eligible for Medicaid or a tax credit on one of the other marketplace insurances. Healthcare.gov is where I found my current and previous plans. Best of luck!

I hear you. My husband has me and my daughter on his plan. Almost $600 a month! It is crazy how expensive it is. I am not sure how the Healthcare marketplace works but maybe get some assistance for cheaper Healthcare through there? Hope all works out!

I know we don’t add until baby is born. You have 30 days with our insurance to add baby after birth. But it’s through my husbands insurance so idk the pricing.
