I’m too new at this...help!

I’ve been talking to this guy for the last 4 months now, we started going on dates last month and we went on a few and we both enjoyed them. We talk all the time, have lots in common an so far good vibes all around, now we are still going on dates, do guys tend to ask to be in a relationship before having sex with you, or is it more situational? I know it seems like a dumb question 😅 but I’ve literally never been in a real relationship with a guy so idk how it goes. He’s very patient as well, like I wouldn’t mind having sex with him if it came to that, but I also don’t wanna mess this up by doing so. He’s talked about me meeting his parents too, I’m kinda nervous but also excited 😌 any advice or opinions would really help
