What would you do? 🧐

Saw this randomly on my news app and thought it was an interesting predicament.. to sum it up: father has two high school age children, mother died when they were young. Father has new girlfriend soon to be wife. Daughter wants to go to college and if father gets married, she won’t qualify for grants. So daughter asks father to postpone getting married for 3 years for her to finish her degree and not rack up loads of debt. Gf is pissed.

What would you do if you were the parent? How would you feel if you were the girlfriend?

*Edit: I totally agree with everyone. This was one of those columns where the guy got a response and the columnist seemed more in favor of the GF. Telling the guy to think about how she would feel and her response was probably because she took it as being pushed aside or that she wasn’t a “stepmother” like getting married would suggest. So I thought maybe it was a little controversial but I was wrong 🤣🤣*
