20/50 vision 9 year old

So we found out today my son needs glasses his vision is 20/50.... I know nothing about glasses or vision since I’ve always had 20/20 is rhag severely terrible???? His prescription will be 1.75... is that terrible??? He’s only 9!!! They looked behind his eyes they are healthy and no diseases or anything. My son likes to play his Xbox yes... and he has a tablet he plays on. Please do not shame me because that’s not all he does. He plays baseball, soccer, and basketball, he does sports and loves to play outside as well. Sometimes he can spend a lot of time of the game depends on the day. I feel like this is all my fault.... for letting his game and stuff he just recently told me a month ago he couldn’t see stuff at school from far away. Like I said I know nothing about glasses or anything about vision how bad is this for a nine-year-old???
