It can develop at any stage. I’ve had 3 pregnancies with GD and was diagnosed at 28 weeks, 16 weeks, and 6 weeks, respectively. If you have a glucometer you can check it occasionally at home if you’re worried.

If you are overweight or have a history of diabetes in your family you will likely be tested around 12 weeks when you have genetic testing. I was tested early with my first because my grandma has diabetes. I was tested early with my second because I had gestational diabetes with my first. Even if you pass early on you'll be tested again between 24-28 weeks because it can develop later on.

I would not worry this early on.. they dont test for it until at least 24 weeks so I don’t think you can develop it so early on.
