Can someone help me figure this out

Has anyone gotten this so my phone I haven’t been receiving messages from my friend contact but she says she texts me and today I turn my phone on and off and got messages but like 5 I never seen before so I click messages and there’s anything but I notice her messages that she sent days before. My question is are those notifications the texts she sent me that I never got ?
