Thoughts on journaling

I have tried journaling before but it ended up being a journal of me venting and writing what I don’t like about myself.

I started journaling in different way this time due to me downloading an app that I found really helpful.

My question for people who have been journaling for a long time is, have journaling actually sparked some change in your thought process or helped at all?

It feels good to write down my thoughts and feelings however I’m not sure if i believe the hype?

Yes I’m writing down affirmations, things I would like to change and blah, blah, blah but will it actually help me or will I be writing the same shit down over and over?
