Lightening crotch at 38 weeks

I’m not sure what exactly lightening crotch is. As I never had this issue with my first pregnancy.

Last night I kept getting sharp, sharp pains in my left pelvic area. Pains that would shoot down my leg. They have been consistently happening all night long and I have gotten no sleep. Even woke my husband up because I was in so much pain. These are comparable to the Charlie horses in my calf that I was getting.

Anyone else experience this?? I figure it’s just baby in the worst spot. But it’s literally only happening on my left side.

Should I call my doctor??
