How do I tell him?

Question

I was sent home from work on Thursday for throwing up (standard protocol for them) and could not be cleared to come back until I got a negative Covid test result. Went today and the NP did a whole work up and said I should take a pregnancy test which came back positive. 
This was very unplanned and we are not in the most stable of places financially right now but my initial instinct is to keep the baby. I haven't told my partner yet and I'm unsure how to tell him as we've been particularly careful the last month and a half and I'm fearful of his reaction. Any advice?

It might be best if you first work out what you want. Sort through your own feelings, figure out the pros and cons for a little while by yourself first. But also give yourself a deadline to tell him, like in two days or a week. That way you will have a higher chance of having a rational discussion about it, and you can help him deal with the initial emotional reactions to the news. But also not drag it out too long that it becomes unreasonable by the time you tell him. Also, try not to build his reaction up in your head. You don't know what it'll be until you tell him. 
As for how to tell him...sorry I can't help here... I only know the straightforward way, maybe add a line like I've got something major to tell you but make sure you stay calm??

Tell him. You have the right to make any decision you want if you want to keep it then do so but talk to him about it.

If your scared of how he might react do it in a public place like a busy coffee shop. People are less likely to over-react in places like that.
