16 month old isn’t interested
Anyone else struggling to “teach” their baby new things? My 16month old wants no part in it.
She says a few words. Mama, Da (dad), cracker, she tries her very best to say “I love you”, she says “yeah” sometimes and can shake her head no. I try to do the “say-this” and be consistent with having her say words but she just stares at me and then gets angry when I keep on her about it.
I got her blocks with letters and numbers on them. We opened the box, I showed her the number 1 and said “one” and she actually repeated me! I show her 2 and say “two” and she repeated again! I was so excited. Now 4 days later she won’t say either one no matter how many times I show her and point. Then she gets angry and just wants to play with them.
She understands so much, I can basically tell her simple things and she understands “shut the door” or “let’s go upstairs for bed”. But she just doesn’t want to talk. I know all babies are different, but was there any tricks you did to help your toddler? I’m struggling! I work from home and watch her and I just feel like it’s my responsibility to teach her everything.
