I think it’s always best to have a specific type of self improvement in mind, rather than a general book. Do you want help with relationship stuff, work or job related, parents, in-laws, children? And then get a book specific to that area for concrete tips and help. General self motivation or personal growth books I find to be fun to read but not practical or applicable. It’s hard (if not impossible) to change your entire personality/ mentality on life, especially from a book. It’s easier to focus on one area at a time that you’d like improvement. For general overall life improvement or personal growth I’d always recommend a therapist, since the help will be specifically for and about you.

Thank you for your reply. I need to change a lot of aspects of my life. My main one to begin with I guess is getting into a routine with family life. My anxiety seems to have gotten the better of me and I’m scatty, overwhelmed and exhausted all the time!
