Should I get a rash guard or regular one piece swimsuit?

What exactly is the point if a rash guard and is it better than a regular swimsuit for a toddler

The rash guard offers more sun protection. I actually had a full body sun suit for my very pale daughter when she was a baby, it was nice not having to repeatedly apply sun block

I think both can effectively protect from the sun. I would say it depends where your toddler is swimming… if in the pool, regular swimsuit is good. If in the beach, rash guard cos it may protect his skin from the potential irritation from sand or from other stuff given the more open environment. Just my opinion.

I like the rash guards for the sun protection. Plus it’s easier for diaper changes

The rash guard sets are way more convenient for diaper changes and potty training toddler. Even the one piece suits that have the snaps are extremely hard to get on and off. Plus the rash guards usually cover more to protect from the sun.
