Would people shorten Lily to Lil?

I think our baby girl with either be Evie or Lily. I think Evie is less likely to be shortened, and if it was it would be to eve which I like. I really don’t like Lil!

I’ve never heard a Lily getting called Lil. But sometime in her life I’m sure it would happen. I’d guess not very often at all though.

My niece is named lily. I never feel the need to say lil. Most of the time I actually want to call her Lillian 🤣🤣, but her name is simply lily. 
My 2 kids however are Zelda and Bella, I often times call them zel and bel. My husband hates when I say bel because we didn’t name her bel, we named her Bella. With zel he doesn’t care.

People usually find a nickname, so it makes sense to choose a name with a nickname you like imo. My name doesn’t have an obvious short form so I have loads of nicknames from different people 🤷‍♀️
