Black family members don’t like our non black name for child
So here’s a little story about how me and my hubby always said if we had a girl her name we be anastasia. Now yes it’s kind of a uncommon name for a black girl but non the less we like the name. But sure enough my family wasn’t really to happy. My dad said he didn’t like that it had 2 syllables and prefer Stacy and well my mom likes it. My aunts and uncles said the name is to white and we should pick a name that has a black or African American background. Now I think that’s pretty stupid. But has anyone ever had such a fuss with families and names from
Different origins. Now I know anastasia is traditional a Russian name that mean resurrection. Perfect since our child is due around Christmas but they are just saying oh well your black and you should raise your kid with a more black name. When I was a little girl anastasia was a name I heard and always thought it was beautiful. They act as if I’m naming the child a name that has a awful meaning or something they can’t pronounce. This is annoying. Rant over , Advice needed lol
