Is a blow up bed acceptable for a guest bedroom?

My husband and I just purchased a house and we want to decorate our guest bedroom. After watching the show marriage or mortgage I saw that a room was decorated beautifully however the bed was a air mattress￼￼ & I was considering doing that but I wonder if that would look too o tacky or cheap ￼

Really depends who your guests are? For older people like parents, grandparents, aunt and uncles I wouldn't. I personally would never put guests on an air matress

I think it would be fine but I wouldn’t leave it blown up all the time otherwise you’ll be refilling it all the time

It depends on how often you have guests. 
If you have guests over often, get a real mattress. If it’s once in a blue moon, it’s fine. 
We rarely have guests spend the night (family all lives fairly close). So we have a couch that can be set up into a full sized bed for when we occasionally do have guests. This saved space and we weren’t wasting a room on a guest room that rarely gets used.

Of course having a real mattress is more comfortable, but a blow up is no big deal imo. I do agree with another poster about depending who your guests are, if their old etc. We hardly have guests but we have a hidabed in our couch. At our house it's that or an air mattress lol

I'd personally just get a real mattress but that's because any air mattress I've used loses air and is just so awkward to sleep on and the guests I'd have would be my older brother and his wife or my dad and his wife, my brothers a big guy so I don't think a air mattress would do well for him and while my dad can and will fall asleep anywhere I prefer to give him a comfortable place to sleep

In my personal opinion I don’t think it would be nice , because what happens if it’s really cold and you get guests....They gonna shiver and sleep lol.

Most of my guests refuse an air mattress. We have a super nice one, but no one will use it. Our guest room has a real bed, but sometimes we have extra guests and they choose the couch over the air mattress. My mom says it’s too cold to sleep on. My in-laws say it hurts their back. My MIL says she can’t get out of it, it’s too low to the ground. My BIL can’t sleep on it because he has a dog. 
You can get decent mattresses for relatively cheap these days. Just do that. If you’re going to set up a guest room, just do it right.

I would never do it.  We have 3 guests rooms (soon to be 2) and have nice mattresses in all 3. I’d just feel weird having a guest and being like, “oh yeah, you have to sleep on a blow up mattress...just pretend you’re camping!”😅
