Miscarriage at 8 weeks?

I started bleeding slightly heavy while I was at work. It came out of no where. I felt it come and went to the bathroom immediately because it felt like too much to be normal discharge. Blood is bright red, but I haven't passed any clots. This happened at around 9pm. I called my doctor and she advised me to keep an eye on the bleeding and if I soak through multiple pads to go to the ER. I'll be seeing her for an ultrasound in the morning. It is now midnight. Every time I use the bathroom blood is still dripping but it's a lot lighter, still bright red, and only a little bit of blood on the pad. I have had slight cramps, but not any worse than the normal pregnancy cramps. Has anyone experienced the same thing and went on to having a good pregnancy? I've had such bad luck this pregnancy.
