How long do you stay in the hospital ?

Getting induced. How long will I be there for? I go in next Sunday

Got to the hospital 5am Friday May 7th had baby at 7:31pm and was home about 4pm Sunday.

I was induced on a Tuesday at 10am ... baby born via emergency csection Wednesday at 3pm ... went home on Saturday around noon

I had induction on a Thursday evening. Didn’t give birth until Saturday afternoon. Discharged Monday afternoon.

I spent one night. They said I could stay 2 but I wanted to get home to my own bed.

I stayed 4 hours after delivering my second and third baby’s. I was able to leave earlier because my midwives do home visits the next day

My hospital is 2 days for vaginal delivery and 3 days for csection. As a second time parent they will allow you to leave 1 day early if everything checks out. They asked me to stay the full 2 days since I was GBS positive just to make sure everything was fine. I was 100 percent fine staying the whole time and using the nursery!

Depends on your delivery, and how you both are doing postpartum. For the hospital I delivered they will not do baby’s blood work before 24 hours so atleast 24 hours. If jaundice then baby would have to stay longer for light therapy. Also checked my blood count. They asked me if I wanted to go home and said they would try and push for blood work right when baby turned 24 hours and then doctor said we could leave once it’s done and they’d call if it was too high. I think more because of covid they haven’t been keeping people as long. With my first and second I was in for 3 nights.

I was induced Monday night and started pitocin Tuesday morning. She came Tuesday afternoon and we stayed until Wednesday afternoon (24 hrs after delivery). Vaginal delivery, no complications. Baby #1 for us. 😊 Hope you have a good experience and a healthy baby!

My hospital keeps you 48 hours for vaginal, 72 for csection AFTER labor and delivery.
