If you have no one to throw you a baby shower is it tacky to do it yourself?!

Due to Covid Many are struggling financially. I have no super close friends or family that live near therefore for my first baby I still want to have a baby shower. Socially distanced of course. But I don’t know how I feel about it. If I don’t do it no one will so is it wrong to still want to do it?! My mother died when I was 12 or I know she would but it’s not fair I have to miss out celebrating with the people I love! What do you think?

My fiancé’s mother is planning mine and there’s literally no information about so I can let my family know. Probably should’ve just planned my own shower to be honest. So no it’s not tacky, and if it is then who cares.

If you don’t have a lot of family here I’d throw it and I’ve your hubby’s friends come too call it a baby bar bq and celebrate baby with everyone that’s here we did a co Ed shower because I’m estranged from my parents so didn’t invite many family members

No go for it. My mil bullied her way into hosting mine so she could show "how amazing of a grandma she will be" in the end I pretty much ended up planning it and paying for it anyways as she wanted my help...aka to plan it lol. Would have been easier and less stressful just to do it myself lol. Throw is and enjoy it. Every baby deserves to be celebrated and even if people can't bring gifts due to financial issues from covid or whatever still a fun thing to do. If anyone tells you it is tacky just ignore them. You are having a baby and excited and wanna share with loved ones, so do it!! Congrats on baby!!

As I've said before, I think baby showers in general are tacky. A whole party based off wanting to get "showered" in gifts is something that I can't agree with. I support baby parties, where the baby is celebrated and gifts are optional, not obligatory or expected.
