Hey ladies! Do you know how to go about getting the blood gender test done? I have my 12 week appointment on Friday. Do all clinics offer the opportunity to do this? How much does it cost? TIA!

My clinic offered it to me. If insurance will pay for it, it’s $300. But if it’s from my own pocket it’s $250.

gender test or nipt? nipt tests for genetic abnormalities mainly but includes gender as well, the main purpose is not gender but it’s 99% accurate & more accurate than ultrasounds. i did it & when my dr offered it she said it would be around $200. they ended up billing my insurance $10,505 and i had to pay $560 filed a claim and paid $0 also i’m not considered advanced maternal age so it wasn’t fully covered for me at first

Some providers do not offer it unless there is suspicion of something wrong, mother is over 35, etc. 
My provider offers it to anyone and everyone who wants it. My sisters provider(same town) doesn’t offer it at all.

My OB offered it around 9 weeks but my insurance didn't cover so it would be $300.  We decided not to.  We are going to an ultrasound place at 14 weeks to find out the gender for $65

Most providers will give you information during your appointments. It’s called NIPT. But not all insurance covers it if you don’t have a medical reason to have it done (such as no major family history of health issues). 
I had mine done at 13 weeks. If you’re not sure if they’ll bring it up, ask about it.
