Is anyone considering doing the oral vitamin k for their newborns or just not doing it?

I am really nervous about the injection and after reading the insert it just made it worse! I am not anti vaccine or anything.

Injections are way more effective as baby can spit most of it out!
Is a very very important shot that could save your child’s life!
My girl got it and had zero issues!

My first 2 got it, but I want to talk to the pediatrician this time around about it. I've not done a lot of research, but saw that most mammals are born with low vit k levels, which would indicate it is somehow beneficial. However, because of modern diets, humans are usually chronically low in vit k, so it might be lower than the benefit threshold. It also doesn't transfer will through breast milk so just upping my intake won't necessarily help. We have a flexible pediatrician so I want to talk to get about everything this time around.

The woman who I saw weekly for my blood work had worked in the NICU for years and I can’t remember the whole conversation but she said that she’s seen situations where things have happened and the baby has almost died from bleeding enough times that she strongly recommends it.

We didn’t do the shot or the oral dose at birth. I supplemented with d3 + k2 drops at home on a regular basid.

We've gotten it with each kid with no noticeable side effects. Neither have had traumatic births so I can't say if it was 100% necessary, but since it hasn't harmed them, I will probably do it again for this babe.
They've also never offered me an oral option...so, that also probs played a factor.

1 got the shot because I didn’t know anything about it 
2 got the oral vit k as there was no trauma at birth 
3 got the shot as he was premature, bruised, and he needed care including ivs immediately after birth 
4 a decision will be made depending on how delivery goes
