What would happen if I got pregnant 3 months after a c-section?

I’m almost 4 months postpartum (our second baby) . I had a traumatizing emergency c-section. My husband & I finally had sex for the first time 2 days ago. I’m paranoid I’ll get pregnant again. What would happen? Would my uterus erupt? Would I have to get a medical abortion? (I would never have an abortion unless medically necessary) or would I just be high risk?

I think this is a situation you should absolutely talk to your doctor about considering they know you and your medical history. This is tough! I’m not sure what I’d do but I know I’d definitely talk to my doctor

It definitely can be extremely high risk! They recommend waiting 1 year before getting pregnant again (but you'll hear different or varying opinions on this). I think you need to be wise about this and ensure you are using protection until you're in the clear to get pregnant again.

I had an emergency c-section, and my doc told me to wait 12-18 months if at all possible before getting pregnant again.
(We don't plan on having another anyway, just what the doc told me!)

I got pregnant at 4 months post.  Very traumatic delivery (c section) and I almost died.  My doctor was totally fine with it.  I ended up miscarrying at 10 weeks though. So I cannot let you know how it played out.  Got pregnant again, miscarried, then again at 12 months PP. This one finally stuck.  Best of luck to you💗

Talk to your doctor. You wouldn’t have to get an abortion. You probably just need to be monitored more. I’m sure it happens more than you think.

I wanted to get pregnant soon after my son was born. My obgyn said to please wait at least 6 months but preferably closer to a year.
