Aggressive dog how to correct it?

I have two maltipoos one is a senior and the other one is 2...the 2 year old maltipoo will attack the senior dog unprovoked. He will literally go up to Him while he is sleeping and attack him and even though they are small dogs it can get really bad with bad injuries....I don’t understand why. can anyone give me some insights?

Please remove the younger one and find a family with no other pets 
The senior dog doesn’t deserve that!!! 
My husbands families dog attacked one of their dogs unprovoked and they didn’t do anything, a few weeks later that dog killed the other dog it had previously attacked 
Do not ignore this!!!!! The dog has a problem with the senior dog and needs to be rehomed immediately

We have two pits that do the same we just have to keep them separate they lived in the house for 2 1/2 years together before they started fighting there’s no way to correct it we have tryed muzzles the main thing I would try (we can’t do this because our dogs are huge) put a leash on the one is the aggressor and every time you see warning signs of her getting irritated say a call of command and if they listen give them a treat try teach her that it’s okay to be around the other dog start small.

That sounds like an bad temperament. Kinda like an unbalance in the brain. Unfortunately if that’s what it is it cannot be trained out of her
