Potty Training

After months and months of failed attempts I have finally convinced baby girl that she is a big girl and can poop and pee in the potty and she is staring to realize the feeling before she has to go. Today was day three and I just had to share our experiences today with someone... I left my daughter with my 11 year old stepson so that I could lay my 9 month down for his nap. I came back to her sitting on the potty, crying with her hands covered in poop. Apparently she told him she had to poop so he helped her pull her pants down and she had already pooped in her underwear and it fell out onto the ground. She knew poop doesn’t belong there so she tried to pick it up with her hands. I washed her hands over and over, cleaned under her nails, clipped her fingernails, let her play in soapy sink water but her hands have stunk all day. Then this evening I undressed my two daughter and son for their bath. I bathed my 9 month old quickly and got him dressed. While I was bathing my son my two year old peed while she was doing a headstand on the couch which resulted in urine all over the couch and in her hair. I don’t ever hear other people experience things like this! This is so much harder than I ever imagined. I think I’ve just heard too many people say, “they just potty trained themselves”, “they just woke up one day and stared using the potty”... I hope this doesn’t gross anyone out. I just want others to know my experience in case your are going through something similar.
