Does your child have juvenile arthritis ?
So my 3 y/o daughter is extremely active. She’s CONSTANTLY on the go & rambunctious. But since like February she’s had issues with her knees. She goes through periods where she refuses to walk because she says her knee hurts, her knee gets swollen, she cries because of the pain... that’ll last for a few days & then all the sudden she’s back to normal until it happens again.
It always starts when she wakes up. She’ll be completely fine the day before but when she wakes up she’ll crawl out of her bedroom crying or she’ll scream for me because she can’t/won’t walk. She won’t do anything that involves using her legs & that’s completely out of character for her. She’s always always always running, jumping, etc.
I’ve taken her to the ER the last 2 times & they did an X-ray & said she just sprained it. Which is what they told me today (this is the 2nd ER trip)
But my sister brought up JIA (juvenile idiopathic arthritis) & it seems like this may be what my daughter is experiencing...
Can anyone here with a child with JIA please tell me if you think this fits & how to bring it up with her doctor??
